Hi, I have been a dog groomer and running my own business "Posh Dog Wash" for over 30 years now and in that time I have had many, many dogs come to me with very matted ears. They had got wet and muddy on lead walks, falling into their dinner getting covered in dog food and getting all soggy when dogs were eating bones. The only thing to do was clip all the hair off and start again. The owners understood but obviously would rather their dog have lovely fluffy ears.
Lots of dogs suffer from the dreaded grass seeds getting stuck in their ears which is very painful and stressful for them and if gone in too far results in surgery. We all know how it's extremely worrying when we have to have our dogs anesthetized, not to mention the costly bill at the vets!
For a long time I thought about something that could help to prevent the ears getting matted and having grass seed problems, lots of ideas came to mind including what fabric to use, what would be comfortable and easy to put on, it was all quite stressful but well worth the effort as in the end I produced my Mutts Ear Mitts® and I have to say I'm very proud of them. Already they have helped many, many dogs and their owners and I really do hope they will continue to do so.
